Reaching the Create a Place button
Once you have created a login and have signed in, you will be able to add a Place by doing the following:
- Click on Pages
- Select Create a Page
- Click on Create a Place
Providing information about your Place/Business
Once you have clicked on Create a Place, a new page will open with empty fields for you to fill in. Please find information about all of the fields below:
Images, basic information, and social media
- Cover Photo - this is the field where you can select the main image for your Place
- Profile Image / logo - this is the field where you can select your logo
- Place name - the name of your business
- Category - the type of business
- Email address - the consumer facing email address for the business
- Telephone - the consumer facing telephone number for the business
- Video (YouTube) - a YouTube video to introduce your business
- Website URL - your website URL
- Facebook URL - your facebook page (only the bit after facebook.com/, for example for "https://www.facebook.com/WidgetyTravel/" you would provide 'WidgetyTravel'). Please note that only business/place Facebook pages are accepted, not groups, or personal profiles
- Twitter URL - your twitter handle. This is the @Name that you can see on your profile under your name. Please do not include the @ in this field
Your address information
In the Address section, the first few fields are related to each other. This means that additional fields will appear once you have filled in the previous field. The fields are as follows:
- Country - dropdown where you can select the country your business is located. Please note that for UK countries, you will have to select 'United Kingdom', and then the country in the State field which will appear once the field is filled in.
- State - (hidden until previous field is filled in) state where your business is located
- County (hidden until previous field is filled in) county your business is located in
- City / Village / National Park - (will be empty until the previous field is filled in) the city where you business is located
- Please note: if your city, village, county, or state is not available, please click on 'Can not find your location?' and provide the missing item so that we may add it in.
- Street Address - the street address where your business is located. Should your address require 2 rows, please provide them in one row
- Postcode - the postcode connected to the address above
Opening hours and attachments
- Opening hours - information about your opening hours. This is a simple text field, and there isn't any specific format required at this point
- Attachments - this is the field to upload any brochures or leaflets you want to feature.
- Attachments size limit is 50MB
- Attachment names must be proper, and not just a field names, as this will be the name by which your attachment will be found in a Brochure Rack
Once you have filled in all the fields, click on Create Place. If you have added Attachments, a pop up will appear, asking you to confirm the name of your file(s). You can also add a drop off date for each of them, which will be the date where they will disappear from the system. This is useful is your Attachments are only applicable until a specific date, as the system will know when to remove it without you having to manually do it.
How to edit a Place
Once your Place has been created, you can edit it at any point. To do so you will need to do the following:
- Go to your Dashboard
- Find your Place in the YOUR PLACES block
- When you hover you mouse over it, 3 options should be available.
- Select Edit
